Redhill Youth Speaks Competition Success!
On Thursday 26th January, Redhill hosted the first local round of the Stourbridge Rotary Youth Speaks Competition, and Redhill Team A won!
Redhill entered 3 teams, 1 intermediate and 2 senior, who competed with other schools and colleges; Haybridge, Hagley RC and King Edwards College to name but a few. Huge congratulations to Team A who won this round and will compete in the next on the 4th March in Leamington.
The Year 10 Winners said they are: “Excited for next round, but also nervous. We are really proud of our performance!”
Thank you to Mrs Parker, who has supported these students hugely to prepare for the competition. She said that “Our students showed so much talent and skill through their performances, hence why the judges loved them. It took a lot of courage to perform against some older teams but they rose to the challenge and succeeded! Thank you for the way you represented Redhill, being so focused and listening to your competitor teams very respectfully. We are so proud!”
All teams gathered for a short debrief and thanks at Friday break, where they were awarded chocolates per team and their certificates. Thank you also to Mr Sidaway and Mrs Lewis for all you help and guidance with the students preparing too!
Thank you also to members of the Year 11 Senior Team who helped serve refreshments at the event and supervise the car park, thank you for being so generous with your time!
