Year 11 Parents and Students Update - Examination Grades
Dear Parents/Carers,
Hello, I hope you are all well and that you are managing to stay safe and look after your loved ones.
Today we have had further guidance from Ofqual on the system they are going to use in order to calculate the examination grades for GCSE qualifications. The regulator has confirmed that schools will submit a centre assessment grade. They have provided guidance on what we, as centre, need to focus upon in order to maintain the integrity of the system. We have a wide range of data available to draw upon at Redhill, alongside a very experienced set of subject leaders and teachers. We will be giving these centre assessment grades our full attention over the next two months, in order to ensure that we provide an accurate set of grades. Indeed, we have already carried out extensive analysis on the performance of Redhill students over the past two years in preparation for the awarding of grades.
You will read from the guidance that we are not allowed to share centre assessment grades with students or parents. I know that many of you are anxious over the awarding of the grades, I am sorry I am unable to share any information with you, however I am sure you understand the reasons for this. We will work in the best interests of all our students to provide a fair and robust system for the awarding of the examination grades.
