Post 16 Update for Year 11 Students and Parents

During this difficult time, we have received a number of questions and requests for information from parents and pupils regarding Post-16 provision for Redhill pupils. Since the announcement regarding social distancing and lockdown, we have been in regular contact with Post-16 providers trying to ascertain what they will be putting into place to support Redhill pupils.

Whilst the arrangements for individual establishments differ the following is true for all students:

· The current situation will not disadvantage any student in their applications

· Places that have been offered will be honoured

· There will be (at least in the short term) no face-to-face interviews

The majority of providers have explained to us that they will, over the coming weeks and months, be in contact with students who have been offered places or have applied and are awaiting interviews. In order to allay any concerns that you may have, we would advise you to make contact with the relevant providers at your earliest convenience. To support you with this, below you will find links to the admission sections of those colleges that we know our students have applied to this year: Halesowen College King Edward's Dudley College Dudley Sixth Form Haybridge Sixth Form Hagley RC Sandwell College Kidderminster College Telford College Hartpury College Windsor Sixth Form Heart of Worcestershire College Old Swinford Hospital Sixth Form Birmingham Ormiston Academy Kinver Sixth Form University of Birmingham School Sixth Form

Please follow these links as they will take you to the most up-to-date information for the individual Post-16 providers as these are being updated regularly.

Additional support is being offered to all Year 11 pupils and parents this year by Connexions (via our named worker Louisa Harris). Louisa can be contacted directly in the following ways: · e-mail: louisa.harris@dudley.gov.uk

· telephone: 07812 264515

Alternatively, support and information can be accessed via the Connexions central website: www.connexionsdudley.org

We will continue to support all students and parents in any way that we can during this unprecedented time and encourage you to contact Mr Bacciochi (jbacciochi@redhill.dudley.sch.uk) or Mr Bishop (abishop@redhill.dudley.sch.uk) if you have any questions or queries regarding Post-16 provision.
