Reading Staff Continuous Improvement and Learning (CPDL)
We have built the principles below into our staff CPLD programme and have used them to build a Reading Toolkit that all teachers are now starting to embed into their day-to-day teaching.
Our Reading Principles:
Teachers plan and deliver activities using the ‘Redhill Reading Toolkit’, which will equip students with the ability to meet the demands of a challenging and rigorous curriculum.
Teachers use the ‘Reading Toolkit’ to plan and deliver adaptive and responsive lessons for all pupils.
Teachers ensure that there is a focus on disciplinary literacy: every teacher communicates their subject through its own unique language, and that reading, writing, speaking and listening are at the heart of knowing, doing, and communicating within each discreet subject.
