Culture Day 2024

We celebrated our second Culture Day on April 15th with students and staff. We had a wonderful day in school, it was fantastic to see so many students in their fabulous traditional dress and how unified our school community was on the day. The day started with an international breakfast for the whole school followed by a carousel of assemblies and themed lessons across the day. We welcomed Tok Ahmed from Princes Trust who delivered inspirational assemblies to all year groups, and we also had a Flamenco dancer come in to run workshops for our students.

We had lots of parents and guardians supporting by bringing in food for us all to try and we had parents who came in to run food stalls and provided some wonderful traditional clothing and artifacts for us to add to our display in the hall. The student team who supported on the day were excellent, it was great to see their hard work pay off. We raised over £800 for Childrens Aid through donations on the day. This is amazing and will go towards a very worthy cause. Staff worked hard throughout the day to deliver lessons related to culture themes and we also explored disability and difference as part of the day. There were lots of external visitors to the school, all of them commented on the wonderful atmosphere and were particularly impressed by the excellent conduct, friendliness and politeness of all our students. It was truly special and a privilege to be part of. What a wonderful school community Redhill has.
