Beautiful Remembrance Day Installation Made by Members of Redhill

To enhance the learning journey this year and to honour those affected by conflict, we have put together a remembrance display at Redhill. It symbolises the end of war and the exhausted return home. This installation has been a collaboration across the school community, with the recycled bottle poppies coming from the students in afterschool art and the soldiers being created by Paul and the site team. The wonderful wooden horse was a dedicated joint project between Terry Blewitt and our site manager, Tim, using repurposed timber from our school. The plaque reads the words of Mrs Wooldridge as she saw the installation for the first time. We aim to use this display to educate through imagery across a multitude of departments. We are incredibly moved by the final piece and it has had a striking reaction from our pupils and staff so far. We hope that these photos speak out in a way that is personal to you, as it has done for us.
